The Kantartzis family began to deal with typography by Theodoros P. Kantartzi. Hailing from Kirk Agats in Asia Minor, he came as a refugee to Heraklion, Crete and from a young age worked in the famous printing house of Nikolaos Alikiotis, in the center of Heraklion. Being a perfectionist as a character, but also very hardworking, he soon became a highly skilled technician and foreman.
Together with two associates, he took the business step and opened a printing house with all the technical equipment of the time. Later, his young son Prodromos takes over the company.
Prodromos T. Kantartzis, decided to start his own business in the field of graphic arts, founding the ‘P. Kantartzis printing house’. He equipped his printing house with the well-known, of that time, brass elements and the classic presses, having big dreams and high goals.
The company took its first big step in new technologies with the installation and operation of computers and offset printing presses. This modernization significantly increased the productive power of the company and in combination with the excellent product it offered, significantly increased its turnover. As a result, new production units were created and the staff increased, which forced its transfer to a larger space.
The company is transferred to a privately owned space in the Industrial Area of Heraklion. The know-how in combination with the dynamic approach and the new ideas, contribute to the continuous development of the company, which is constantly evolving.
Over the years, the ‘P. Kantartzis Printing House’ has advanced innovative technologies with the purchase of state-of-the-art mechanical and technological equipment. This philosophy of continuous development, with technological upgrades, make it a vertical production unit that can provide complete printing solutions in a short production time, with its main goals of quality and consistency.
